Pipe Relining Raworth

Pipe relining in Raworth seals a split or root-invaded drain from within: a resin-soaked liner is pushed into the old pipe and cured so it forms a new, jointless pipe within it. Our plumber in Raworth team films the line first and quotes before starting. Relining belongs to our drain services group.

Plumber relining a drain through a bathroom floor waste

When Is Relining the Right Repair?

Clearing removes a blockage; relining fixes the pipe that keeps causing it. It fits when:

  • A line blocks again within months of each clear
  • Footage shows splits, gapped joints or roots, yet the pipe is still round
  • The damaged run sits under concrete, a deck or an established garden
  • An older section needs sealing without disturbing the whole yard

How We Reline a Drain

Survey

A camera inspection measures the pipe, maps each junction and confirms the line can take a liner.

Prepare

Roots and scale are cut back and the line is scoured with the drain jetter so the resin has bare pipe to stick to.

Insert and cure

The liner is fed in from an access point and pressed outward by an inflatable bladder while the resin hardens.

Reopen and film

Junctions are reopened with a cutter and the finished line is recorded on camera.

What Affects the Price of Relining?

The length of pipe to be lined sets most of the price. On top of that:

  • Diameter Since a larger pipe needs a larger liner and more resin
  • Junctions along the run Each of which has to be cut open after curing
  • Patch or full sleeve Depending on whether one joint or the whole line is failing
  • Access at each end If an opening has to be installed

Relining Under Raworth Yards

Twenty-year-old joints in moving clay

Drains beneath Raworth's brick-veneer homes date from the late 1980s onward, bedded in river alluvium that carries reactive clay. Seasonal swelling and shrinking of that clay slowly prises the joints open. Once maturing garden roots find those gaps, clearing only buys time.

Yards not worth digging up

Many of these homes now have paved alfresco areas, driveways and gardens planted when the estates were new. A sleeve repairs the drain and leaves all of that in place.

What Customers Say

They were very understanding of my situation, with a work around for my pipe issues, which ended up being a fraction of the cost than previous quotes from another company.

When We're Not the Right Call

Relining depends on the old pipe keeping its round profile. Where the footage finds a length flattened or slumped badly off grade, excavation and new pipe replace it, while damage in the Hunter Water main past your junction goes to them. If the pipe is sound and only roots are the trouble, tree root removal is the job.

Relining Questions Before You Book

Can a drain under my Raworth driveway be relined?

Yes, if the pipe is still in one piece and roughly in line. The liner goes in from an inspection opening or a short access point at one end, so the driveway, slab or garden above stays untouched. The camera shows first whether the pipe is sound enough to take it.

Does relining shrink the pipe?

Slightly, by the thickness of the liner wall. Because the new inside surface is smooth and has no joints, the pipe tends to flow as well as or better than the cracked original, which was catching waste at every gap.

What if only one joint is damaged?

A short patch liner can seal a single joint or crack without sleeving the whole run. The footage shows whether the rest of the line is sound; if several joints are going, a full-length sleeve is the better repair and the quote gives both prices.

Can roots grow back through a relined pipe?

Roots enter through gaps, and a cured liner has no joints for them to find along its length. What stays exposed are the ends and any junctions, which is why those are checked on camera at the end of the job.
